I couldn't wait to share these images from my latest shoot with the Paso Wine Man Band! These guys were pure talent. Every time I was setting up or moving lights, they would break out into song and make me forget I was working. The pitch-perfect melodies and harmonies echoed richly through the caves of L'Aventure Winery and really set the mood for our shoot. It's not often I get to do a real moody lighting set up, so I had a lot of fun with this one, and I think it shows in the final images! I drew heavily from Robert Freeman to emulate the Parlophone with the Beatles album cover, as well as from phenomenal portrait photographer Dan Winters for the color portraits. I have to say I didn't get close to Dan Winters' style here, but it was my first attempt and I am definitely happy with the results regardless. As my good buddy Norman Vincent Peale once said - "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars!"
