Migration | Emma | Mavrick Models

 A couple of weeks ago I spent a weekend with my wife in West Hollywood shooting model test photoshoots for a couple of agencies.  We worked with Emma of Mavrick Models for this fashion photography portfolio shoot.  Andrea came up with the concept for this shoot and called it "Migration".  Migration, referring to the migration of Mexican workers to California in the early 20th century.  This fashion concept celebrates the unique textures and colors that came to us from Mexico..  After the shoot, this photographer and his stylist wife had fun eating and drinking and people-watching with all the grammy's afterparties going on including one in our hotel.

Spanish Strength | Liberty | Aston Models

 A couple of weeks ago I spent a weekend with my wife in West Hollywood shooting model test photoshoots for a couple of agencies.  We worked with Liberty of Aston Models for this fashion photography portfolio shoot.  Andrea came up with the concept for this shoot and called it "Spanish Strength".  Spanish pride and strength is shown in multiple layers of rich prints and textures.  Layered pieces give this look a royalty and strength. Set in Los Angeles, this look shows off a Spanish beauty in an unexpected setting.  After the shoot, this photographer and his stylist wife had fun eating and drinking and people-watching with all the grammy's afterparties going on including one in our hotel.

Kat | Style Shoot | Paso Robles, CA

I grew up on a horse ranch, so I felt so at home on this shoot.  We spent the afternoon on a ranch just North of Paso Robles overlooking the now rushing Salinas River (Thank you, God, for all that rain!)  We hung out with Kat's cat Sammy, her horses and her bunny.  It was so cloudy and windy, with rain threatening to trap us inside all throughout the day, but we managed to spend quite a bit of time outdoors nonetheless!

Test Shoot | Navid | Paso Robles, CA

It's been so rainy and dreary here in Paso Robles, CA which is actually pretty amazing for this fashion and commercial photographer!  I love how everything feels and looks differently, the smell, the colors, the diffused natural light... so beautiful!

My friend Navid is represented by Scout Models in San Francisco and Forté Models in Santa Barbara, and Halvorson Models in San Jose, and he recently became a brand ambassador for Robert Talbott Designer Men's Wear in Monterey.  When he asked me to photograph him for RT, I knew I had to take him up to Sculpterra Winery and Sculpture Garden to get some beautiful vineyard images.

WDLK Swimwear | Juliana | Pismo Beach, California

I spent the last weekend producing swimwear photography for a couple different companies, one of which was WDLK Ocean Swimwear out of Hamburg, Germany.  These swimwear companies generally find me on Google or Instagram and ship me a handful of bikinis for me to shoot.  I coordinate the photoshoot, produce beautiful images, and deliver them to the company to be used for social media, website, eCommerce, look-book, catalog, etc.  The best part about being a photographer in California is getting to work on the beach, hands down.  Here are some of my favorite shots from my recent shot for WDLK Ocean Swimwear:
